Question about ITEC

Post by one.kidney »

I've never been to ITEC before, but I will be there this year. About attire, do people usually dress up or look "nice" at these conferences, or can you just wear causal clothes? A friend keeps telling me that I need to dress up some for the conference, but I wanted to check because they didn't really seem optimal.

I'll put on a coat and tie for the banquet. Not everyone will. The rest of the time it's pretty casual.

EVERYONE should shower, brush their teeth, use deodorant, go light on the cologne, and wear clean-fresh smelling clothes. My first tuba conference was 40 years ago. Over the years I've smelled a thing or two. I suggest you wear "comfortable but nice" so that when you meet a new group for friends and they say "Lets go to So and So's for dinner", you'll feel comfortable.
