Stofer Geib Euro (gone)

Post by bort »

Excellent condition, bought from Lee Stofer in as-new condition. The only thing wrong with it is that the labeling on the side is very hard to read... it was like that when I bought it from Lee. It is entirely inconsequential.

$105, including shipping in the US.

Would trade for:
Blokepiece symphony
Baer MMVI, American shank
Stofer Geib American shank
...something else?

Update: gone!

I own a Kanstul Geib Euro. Can anyway tell me how the Stofer Geib differs from the Kanstul?

I'm not exactly sure, and I think they are very close to each other. I believe they are both copies of the original Conn Geib mouthpieces... but each is a copy of a different Conn Geib, and those may have had some minor differences between them...?

Also, the Stofer (I believe) has a slight "chisel" to the edge of the shank. Not sure if the Kanstul has that.

FWIW, I used to have a Kanstul Geib, and liked it very much. It felt smaller to me than the Stofer, and larger than the Conn. I'm curious what the throat sizes are on the Kanstul and Stofer, as compared to the Conn (which is very small).

Obviously, meant I "anybody" and not "anyway" - I need to 'proof read' before posting. Regardless, thanks for you input on the Stofer/Kanstul comparison. I wouldn't want to go any larger with the Neptune tuba, so I'll stick with the Kanstul for now. Good to know.
