Miraphone 1291 CC

Post by 919tuba »

I am selling my Miraphone 1291 CC tuba. I purchased it in 2005 from Baltimore Brass. It has been sitting in a closet (in a gig bag) for several years. About 2 years ago I got it fully cleaned & maintained at The Tuba Exchange in Durham, NC. It had some minor bell work done; see the pics below. There are also some minor scratches on the back side from normal use, and one small dent on the port side. Finally, one small metal blemish on the bottom, virtually invisible as it sits in the player's lap. All of the slides and valves have been checked and work as perfectly as the day I bought it. There is nothing mechanically or sonically wrong with it; I simply don't play anymore and it's time for me to let it go.

- 5 valve (4 valve + 1 rotary) CC
- 18.5 in diameter bell
- Very good condition (again, see pictures for yourself)
- Original Miraphone gig bag included
- Located in Raleigh, NC
- Asking $6500

More available upon request

I am willing to personally deliver it pretty much anywhere in the continental USA. Available for play tests locally, or within a reasonable drive (contact me).

The bell is 18.5 inches, but who's counting!

Good deal! I paid $6200 for a used 1291 about 10 years ago, so this is a throwback price!

Thanks, I measured with one of the ruler's notches still closed. Doh! Is indeed 18.5.

Update: I have someone coming to play test it within the next few days, so we'll see how that goes. I will change the title to indicate if/when it is sold; until then it's available!
