I've played the Thor copy here in Germany.

It's pretty good. Normal problems with valve cap threads and it being very dirty on the inside. I haven't played a real Thor in years but I wasn't that impressed with the low end. It was very workable, but nothing super special or easy about it. I don't know where you are in the world but shipping and customs may make this horn pretty spendy once it's all said and done...

That is the only response I have seen regarding the horn from someone that has actually played it. Not much discussion on it at all (this the linked-to thread and now this one).

It looks like a Thor copy. Has anybody played one?

Played a similar instrument at Tuba Exchange. Having owned a Thor for many years, it felt very similar to me. As is typical of any tuba at this price point, there was some fit and finish items that felt like they could be better to me, including valve caps, and slide alignment. But I don´t expect a tuba at this price point to be perfect, that´s why it´s not more expensive.

In terms of playing, it played very well and had a lot of similar qualities to the Meinl Weston. Articulation was very easy, clear, and a bit punchy, and I mean the last comment in a positive. The low end didn´t quite feel the same as my old Thor, but again,
it´s been more than a few years since I played that specific instrument. I took a few students with me to try tubas, and they had similar thoughts to me.
