Unlike Joe... I do not do school repairs. However... I get my fair share of walk-ins starting about two weeks before school starts. It's mainly stuck mouthpieces and slides. Too bad the kids don't practice during the Summer months!

Horse racing isn't gambling, it's handicapping!!

(My father took me to the track when I was young, other professional sports were too far away in Philadelphia)

Strike up Fugue for Tin horns, I gotta story...

The wife and me are at the track, see??

$2 window as usual.

Wife says, "why is that little boy running around in his underwear, you should say something!!"

I says, "that's Stuart Elliott!!"

This is the non-cheese side of Wisconsin, apparently. Make sure to get some New Glarus beer while you're there -- great stuff, and only in Wisconsin! (I have to drive an entire half hour to get some. :P)

Interesting couple. They were by my shop once about ten years ago. He bought that helicon from me.

(as a side-note to Lee Stofer).... remember that York Eb body that you stuck a Courtier bell on when you were in Stockbridge and then asked to have the bell back? Well... THAT's the same horn with a different bell. I added the main slide ahead of the valve cluster to get the pitch down. I guess the guy is still playing it.

Oi, nothing wrong with boiled peanuts. Boiled, in the shell in salted water just long enough to make them soft - not mushy. Quite popular out here in Oz. Goes great with a cold beer.

It is my pleasure to say I've played with that guy, though so long ago that it's only a vague though entirely positive memory. Glad to see they're still at it.

Boiled peanuts start out fresh, am I right? Not roasted, like peanuts commonly available at the supermarket.

I've tried it once or twice, with fresh peanuts (they can be grown in the NW, though not right around here), and while I was not really captivated, I can imagine that with some practice you could turn out something tasty. That's different than turning out buckets of something that will be tasty after purchase at the gas station.
