SOLD. Rudy Meinl 5/4 CC $8,000.00

Post by grahamroese »

Hello.

For sale is my Rudy Meinl 5/4 CC tuba. I acquired it in a trade about a year ago and have grown to love this tuba. The sound is massive but with a complex color quite similar to a PT-6, except a tad more mellow. Five rotary valves, plus a kicker for the second valve that works extremely well. The horn has a very distinct German sound when played forte and louder. The presence of sound is remarkable. Intonation is between good and very good.

The tuba had a full maintenance visit (chem clean, alignment, corks, etc.) in May. Everything is moving quickly and silently. I included a close-up of the main tuning slide to show the condition of the slides - they look great. Lacquer is standard-issue Rudy Meinl. I'd say it's 93% overall, with most of the bare brass showing around high-contact areas like the bottom bow and first valve slide.

I am selling the instrument so that I can buy a smaller CC.

I am asking $8,000.00 for this tuba. I am willing to ship via Greyhound at the buyer's expense, but I would prefer to drive. Horn is located in Central Ohio. Please feel free to contact me via Email at grahamroese@gmail.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank.

Thank you!

Please note that while the case is more than sufficient for shipping and protecting the tuba, you will likely need to purchase a gig bag in order to transport the tuba.
