FS Meinl Weston Fasolt
In my search for an F ive decided to sell this horn outright. For anyone who has not played this horn, it is the brother of the Fafner so it does share many qualities of the Fafner like a very warm dark sound, a huge low register that slots very easily and feels very natural on the chops without the need of "reaching" for those low pedals. The differences between the fafner and fasolt come from the fasolt having a larger bell which is almost 20 inches, something like 19.8, a shorter leadpipe which makes the low register respond very quickly for a horn this size, and a larger bell throat and bottom bow which altogether gives the horn a wider more blanket like sound in comparison to the fafner. The bore is .846 but suprisingly the horn doesnt take quite as much air as youd expect. The intonation is quite good once you find the correct depth of mouthpiece vs tuning slide length out I found no real problems. The high register of this horn does take a bit of work to flesh out but it does play well up there. Im asking $5500 plus greyhound shipping, I dont have a case for it but i have a big tuba box that was made for it so it will arrive safe and sound.
There are pictures of it on my other posts but i will post more once I get my phone back from the retailer.

amazing price for an instrument like this. If I didn't have a Fafner already, I'd buy this horn.

Do you know if there is a 5th valve attachment for this instrument?

What he said, it's an attachment that plugs into the first (?)valve slide and becomes a thumb operated 5th valve. Last time I asked Melton I believe this attachment cost around $1000 thoughJerryleejr wrote:There is a slide on 5th valve attachment from the factory.tclements wrote:Do you know if there is a 5th valve attachment for this instrument?
