Great Tuba Story from the Boston Globe

Post by BWBTuba »

Happy Holiday's All: Terrific story about a fellow tuba player who got his wish, though the Make-a-Wish Foundation, to play his tuba with the Boston Pops. His name is Ryan McCoy, he's 15 years old, and been playing the tuba since the fifth grade. He has cystic fibrosis, but continues to play enthusiastically notwithstanding this challenging disease. The URL for the story is at: https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2016/ ... story.html.

Big kudos to the Make-a-Wish Foundation for offering Ryan this opportunity, The Boston Pops and Mike Roylance (who gave Ryan a private lesson during his visit), and especially to Ryan, who is an inspiration to us all.

Very nice story. I'm sure tuba playing is probably therapeutic given the nature of CF.
