I've played extensively on both the stainless and titanium Bayamo and found the titanium a warmer, comfortable rim. Somehow feels smaller than the stainless, if that's possible, and response is excellent. Very noticeable when played side-by-side with brass or stainless but unsure what one might expect without that comparison. Were it not for the considerable price increase for the titanium I'd choose it everyday over the stainless.

As far as response, harmonics, perception, etc., I'll defer to others. My response is based solely on tactile observations.

I've been using a very large 35mm inner rim diameter flattened bowl with a 9mm backbore and extra deep cup custom titanium mpc made for me by G&W on a variety of BBb and Eb horns since 2007. It's my goto mpc. Other tubists have told me the sound is very warm and dark, and seems to be "smoother" then the other mpc's I played for them (I have a lot of mpc's - usually take 6-8 to a gig - some with interchangeable rims and shanks). For me this mpc is very responsive and easy to blow. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
