FS: Besson 4-valve compensating Euphonium

Post by itisunknown »

I have a beautiful all original Besson 4-valve compensating euphonium that I unfortunately never seem to play very much. It is from 1975 according to the serial number site I looked at, and it says Besson on the bell and the bell is 11 inches. I've been told that it is a Sovereign but I can not confirm that as there seems (to me) to be some conflicting opinions about what is a Sovereign, Imperial, New Standard et, al... from what I've been able to read. It blows very free for me, especially in the lower register. I don't seem to have the same high range (above high Bb) on this as I do on my trombone. This plays more like a baby tuba in my hands. Maybe that's a common thing? Maybe it's me? But, it has a big, huge, round sound throughout the range. It uses large shank mouthpieces. I also have a complete Yamaha Silent Brass Practice euphonium mute with electronics and carrying bag that are as new. I will sell all together for $3350 plus shipping. Includes a nice black cordura gig-bag, carrying case for the Silent Brass system/practice mute, and will ship in a larger case that is perfect for shipping to protect it, but not a real option to carry it around in. Please don't beat me up about no pics here. I'm posting from my work computer and the pics can't be loaded up here. Please email me at itisunknown (at) earthlink (dot) net and I'll happily send the pics and answer any/all questions. Many thanks in advance for your kindness and patience.

Hey Unknown, I know I'm a little late to the party, but this sounds like a fantastic deal. If this is still available, could you pm me some pictures?
Thanks so much!
