Help finding a screw?

Post by jeopardymaster »

My Alex threw one of the screws that hold the plate down that the valve post bumps into on its stroke. (There should be a total of 8, and I'm down to 7.) I'd use the technical terms but I have no idea what they are. And I'd take a photo but my phone is toast. So I'm wondering - is that screw something I can find on the shelf in a hardware or music store or is it proprietary to Alexander?

I took a similar screw to a local hardware joint and they found a matching one and trimmed it to length for under a quarter. Didn't match exactly, but worked.

Just make sure you're on ebay and not google. "Tuba screw" pulls up some disturbing images.
