Amati Kraslice BBb- NEW PHOTOS AND PRICE DROP

Postby albertdobyns » Tue May 16, 2017 6:40 pm

I am selling my 1978 Czach Amati Kraslice BBb horn. When I bought it I put about $1500 in repairs and refurbishments into. Replaced all the original corkage and relinked the horn, fixed all of the valves, gave it a serious deep clean and gave it a great overall regrease and cleanup. The horn plays beautifully, has good action and is, besides a few dents, in really great condition.

Here are pics before the fixes. I can send some closeups of the new corkage etc, as well as some better photos.

Hi!

Yes, you commented on my original thread a year ago- I bought it a while before that. The repairs went super well. We didn't bother with some of the smaller cosmetic wrinkles or dents- it certainly is a thin horn, but the other repairs went like a dream. The new rubber corks and the fixed linkages are terrific and they fixed the 5% air spill from the spitvalves. It really plays well. I have a 6-month-old, and I sadly don't play it as much as I used to and need some diapers! I am keeping my C horn and my pocket horn as I play those a lot more often.

I have the CC version of this and it's an amazing player. I bought it because of who it belonged to never expecting to play as well as it does. They are smaller in size but very beefy, with a fairly large bore (around .800 if I remember correctly).

I was surprised when I first played her. She has such a full sound for what feels like a relatively normal sized horn. My upstairs neighbors LOVE when I am playing pedal tones.

Oh I remember now, yes back in August of 2016 you wrote up a thread. Too bad you have to sell it, but diapers are more important (they don't change themselves) hehe! Good luck Al! 8)

Could you show better pics of the dents in the tubing and also a pic of the bottom curve?
