In your ad you might want to include the number of valves and the set up, left or right hand 5th valve, case, age condition.

Please correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly. My last visit with Hodapp, I believe he had just had this horn refinished as satin silver with a bright silver bell to match his York.

mshores, I believe you are correct, the horn was originally lacquer finish, before he made those changes.

I really, really wish I had the scratch right now. I had no idea that Carol had let any of his horns go.

What a great little horn this is. My fondest lesson memories involve playing this horn in duets with Hodie, while he played his Rusk-cut York (which is, by FAR, the best-sounding tuba I have ever played or heard.) When I first started studying with him, I asked him why he didn't own an F, or use his Eb for solo work. He told me simply that he just didn't need to, since he had the 184. And he was right.

Fair warning: anyone who thinks they might be interested in this had better jump on it fast. If it lasts long enough for me to get my work bonus in a couple of months (assuming that we get them this year!) then this horn will be mine.

Bump.

Hey guys, sorry about my untimely response. A lot went on over the last couple months that took me away from dealing with business such as this. Please let me know if you are still interested and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Thanks, Nick
