Life is good! Sitting on my deck in 60 degree 50% humidity weather watching a full moon come into view over the trees, while grilling Jack Daniels marinated chicken breasts with peppers and onions on the side, and also enjoying a fine Rose from the South of France. Life is good!
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Just tap water right now. However... last night I DID have my monthly share of a big bowl of salty popcorn and a wine glass full of Jameson's Irish Whiskey.

Tonight's 'band night' and I'm sure a few of us will do a couple of pitchers of whatever dark is on tap at the local watering hole afterwards. We will be celebrating the sixteen years of The Old Dam Community Band tonight. The official founding date is February 29, 2000 so this splendid occasion only comes around once every four years!

Lapsang souchong tea. Mildly smoky.

Recently splurged on a jug of Oyster Stout, from a local small brewer. I was surprised at how good it was, and I believe everyone who tried it agreed. There's an odd tang to it, but not seafood-y. They said there's really oysters in it. I will be perfectly happy to go on drinking beer with no oysters in it, but just FYI in case the opportunity arises, it's worth a try. Relatively expensive, price per oz equivalent to a $13.50 six pack.

But we can get other really good local brews in 64oz "growler" jugs for much less, and this system is growing on me. It loses fizz, but I'm not picky about that. Better beer, no bottles or cans to dispose of, could be 20% cheaper than the grocery store.

It was quite good. I got it on wheat flatbread, pepperjack cheese, and toasted. Then... ALL of the veggies EXCEPT jalepenos, cucumbers, and black olives. No dressing. I'll do it again probably next Monday. We have Shrine Band from 6 to 7:30 and I usually pick up something for the Mrs. and me to share when I get home.

I need to try the roasted turkey sub. I always get the roasted chicken with American cheese on a 9 grain honey oat roll toasted, with spinach, green & banana peppers, pickles, olives and cucumber dry.....

Franzia Chillable Red.

OKay! It's a box, but we decant into a carafe for a bit of class. But then... if its warm out, then ice cubes in the wine. Ok..shoot me!!! 12 bucks for 5 liters. Such a deal.
