Pulling second slide while playing

Hey all,
I'm a little curious as to how many people actually pull their second slide while playing. I know I'm more likely to move the second slide if it has a kicker, but I want to see how many of you use the second slide while playing.

There should probably be an option for "I would use my second valve slide if I had a kicker (or could reach it)"

I added that in. Seems so far most just don't use that slide while playing.

To address the quite high F# in the staff I attached a rod to my second valve slide on my PT-6P. This is really the only note that I use that slide for, but it is very helpful. It is not vented.

I do pull second occasionally, depending on the horn. Have had pull rod installed on both my York tubas. Have also used the kicker when installed on the horn. Of course, design and pitch tendencies of the individual instrument dictate the usefulness of the kicker. Maybe put a revision in the poll to say kicker/pull rod.

I pull for low B and low E on my BBb Frankentuba. When Dan Schultz worked on it, he moved the brace between the third valve tubing so that it could be accessed from the left side and using the pull ring. I later installed a slide-stopper so I could just yank it all the way out and not pull it off the horn. It works well for me!

On my Cerveny Kaiser the low B is very low, so I push in the 2nd slide.

I use my 2nd valve slide on any tuba that allows me to.
The 4th slide is usually more convenient, but in a passage that includes both low C (or F) and low B (or E) the 2nd pull works better. Here's my favorite:

On 3 valve horns I tune 3 right between 23 and 13 and usually pull 2 for 123.
