Washington Sousaphone? Can anyone help me identify it
Hey guys, I have a Sousaphone and on the bell it just says WASHINGTON.... I am unsure of the maker or whatnot.. I was hoping someone could help me out on it. Thanks in advance!

Pictures would help.

My vote is for a Chech import, and is beyond my expertise to sort out who might have originally made it.
My first and still default parade sousa is an A. K. Hüttl which to my eye resembles your Washington.
I put a few pictures up in forum here a while back: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31358&start=100
(please pardon the disproportionate scale of the pictures)
Sifting through horn-u-copia sousa pictures, if memory serves, there are a couple others there listed as Ditson and Jenkins that in particular have a similar valve section layout.
Hope that helps...

Gosh, i'm not used to being construed as knowing stuff...
In the words of a famous comedian, "Now I got it? I don't even know what I'm talking about!"
Thanks! And best of luck on the ebay auction. (You too can own one of these for your very own)
And for my own curiosity, i may play my Hüttl back to back with a Buescher with an impartial observer and see how they compare...
