I have this horn's twin brother and it plays well. Took it to Dan Schultz for a look and he tightened up the linkages and didn't see any reason to mess with the springs...the valves work fine. Those dents would probably be accessible to a magnet/ball, so they aren't a great problem to get straightened out.
I was interested to see this as I got a much better price on mine and it is in better shape overall...
