University of Windsor

Post by TWScott283 »

The University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) is accepting applications for auditions for the 2018-19 school year and will hold auditions on March 24th, April 14th, and April 28th, or by appointment.

We are very thrilled to be moving into brand new facilities in a few months. The new building is located in the heart of downtown Windsor.

Windsor’s prime location means students can easily get to arts activities of Detroit (in 10 minutes), Ann Arbor, and is a manageable drive to Toronto, Cleveland, and Chicago.

In addition, the university brings in renowned artists throughout the year to work with our students. From a tuba perspective, since 2017, the University of Windsor has or will host Jarrett McCourt, Chuck Daellenbach (masterclass with the Canadian Brass in April), and maestro Roger Bobo. Bringing in these artists afforded University of Windsor students the opportunity to work directly with some of the great musicians of our day through masterclass, concert, and private lessons. In addition to these opportunities, the winner of the school’s annual concerto copetition gets to solo with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

For US students, going into massive debt for education is a path many are taking, but that is not the only option. You can earn your Bachelor’s degree at UWind for a fraction of the cost of most U.S. universities. Partnerships between Detroit and Windsor make studying and going to school in Canada very easy for United States citizens.
