Dillon music

Post by eeflattuba »

Did not know that Dillon music had a new website up and running. Just ordered a used denis wick classic gold plated 1xl tuba mouthpiece for a really low price.Even having shipped to western Canada was cheap. Great website, easy to find whatever you are looking for.

They have been carrying fewer and fewer used tubas, as has Baltimore Brass.

Or they sell before they get them listed on the site. These guys probably flip them pretty quick.

I'm assuming from the posts here that Dillon did update their website? I'm asking because when I click on my bookmarked link (on my Mac), I get a warning that this site may be trying to impersonate Dillonmusic.com to steal financial information. I've never seen a warning like this one.

Whatever technical issues they're having, the site (when accessible) is great. Very mobile-friendly, and with helpful and self-evident search tools/filters while shopping.

Not the tubas i'm looking for, eh?

No, that makes a bunch of sense, both the space limitations in store, and the less competing options both in store and online.

Economic realities being economic realities and all.

Maybe if i'd bought more used instruments, there woulda been more reason to list 'em.
I'll shoulder my fair share of the blame.

But i will continue to hope that it is just that transitions are rarely instantanious, that the older stock missing will be relisted soon as people find time to deal with it.

First of all, yes there is a new website. Same address but leave off the "https:". I don't know why but that is what I have to do myself.

Now about used tubas:
Their used offerings have been declining in number for some months, not sure if it's supply/demand or a conscious choice to limit them.
Dillon Music is always looking for good trade-ins that we can re-sale at a profit with a quick enough turnover. We've been selling used tubas and euphoniums like crazy. That said, we don't have the space for overpriced oddballs to hog precious floor space that could be used selling something else. We'll also sell your horn on consignment if it is priced right. Sometimes I do say no to a consignment or trade-in when someone wants too much for their "Swinette" they paid a fortune for. But otherwise I do all I can to make a deal work for both parties.

Send me pictures and prices of what you want for your good used horns. The worse I can say is no, or counter offer. Send them to: matt at dillonmusic dot com

From the person who started this thread I am thrilled that I was able to order a great mouthpiece at a really good price. Thanks Matt.I will let you know when it arrives. Great website, really easy to navigate. It is amazing how these threads can turn into something other than what was originally intended.
