Would you like to meet up and try Wessex?
Wessex Tubas will be exhibiting at both the US Army Conference at Washington DC February 2-3 and at TMEA at San Antonio, Texas February 14-17.
In the period in between, I will be making a long road trip from one to the other, doing some sightseeing and could stop off for people to try horns on route. Looking at map, my route will seem to take me past Charlotte, North Carolina - Atlanta, Georgia - Montgomery, Alabama - New Orleans - Houston, Texas.
Let me know if anyone would like to meet up to try Wessex horns, and I will see if I can fit in the itinerary.

I'm planning to drive down to TMEA to visit your booth (depending on the instruments you're bringing), but if you get something going in the Dallas area, all the better.

What instruments are you interested? We won’t be taken everything, but if there is special interest in something, I will bring along, if there is room in the van.rumhud wrote:I'm planning to drive down to TMEA to visit your booth (depending on the instruments you're bringing), but if you get something going in the Dallas area, all the better.

I'd love to try the Berg out at TMEA if at all possible. I've heard great things about it.Wyvern wrote:What instruments are you interested? I’m hoping to spend some time with your Bb ophicleide and the tornister tuba, and the new contrabass trombone. Basically, the oddball stuff! Also, if you’ve got copies of the Tony George tutor book, I’ll pick one up for sure.

Some years ago Jeff Rideout from Custom Tubas in Michigan stopped by the music department at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO on the way home to Michigan from Texas after TMEA, since Springfield is on I-44 on the way northeast to St. Louis to I-55 north to Michigan. They have several rehearsal rooms and one might be available. I recall many players stopped in to try tubas and mouthpieces, and even some sales were made. I bought a mouthpiece at the time.

The Raleigh area could be positive as well, would love to help coordinate that. Smitha at campbell dot edu is the best way to reach me!

Thanks for all the feedback. I will try to get an itinerary together next week and fit in as many stops as I can. I want as many people as possible to have a chance to try the horns

I'll be visiting you at TMEA as well. I'm very interested in the Eb Cimbasso....and if you had one there, it'd really help me sell my boss on the idea.

Yes. Coming to the West coast? If so, perhaps we can coordinate it with my tuba ensemble meet.
