BUMP for video biz...

Now back up for sale!
Price - £5,000 GBP (c.$7,000 US - roughly)
Brand - Nirschl/Lamberts
Model - 4/4 - 1-4 pistons, 5th rotor (some say 5/4)
Location - UK (Hertfordshire)
Demo Video:

I am not particularly proud of this but hopefully it shows the very basic tonal and intonation qualities - I'm not touching slides deliberately.

Nirschl Valve Detail.jpg
GREAT playing C tuba 4 pistons + 5th Rotor (flat whole-step). 19" Bell. Fits in a 1291/Sov Eb gig bag. Great sound, intonation, and response. Raw brass with a nice patina. Around 6-8 years old.
Excellent condition with only fairly infrequent orchestral outings. A few bruises on the bottom bow (easily fixed if desired - particularly with the raw brass finish!).
Designed by Nirschl, with parts made in Germany, assembled by Lamberts here in the UK. No bell engraving.
Only selling as I don't play it as much as I would like.
The fit-and-finish of this tuba is truly excellent - whoever put it together did a cracking job.
Sellmansberger fingerbuttons are staying with me - I have the originals...
Price is £5,000 firm - and worth every penny (imo!). No case or mouthpiece, although both can be negotiated.
Shipping Worldwide at cost. (Since I've checked, US Residential around $500(!), less to an airport I expect. Italy was around 150 Euro) Actual prices will vary.
Tuba leaves me once money cleared, no exceptions.

Questions here or PM me.
Trials welcome here in Hertfordshire.
Thanks!

What's the purpose of the lyre holder on the side of the 5th valve casing?

Lamberts installed a 'guard' which sits over the 5th valve. It is held in place via the lyre box. I've never used it. I may have it somewhere.
When they these together apparently Graham Sibley of the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (UK) assisted with a few pointers. He thought it could use the 'guard'.
I believe the CSO Yorks and the Yamayorks have a bit of a 'cage' shielding the 5th valve from the right hand.

Here's a YouTube link of me hacking away at a couple of scales on this tuba without touching the slides.
As I say - any failings are 100% mine. The low F sounds pretty shouty but that is just me and the tiny room!
Maybe I'll do another of these in a better space...

It's beautiful. Oh boy I hope whoever gets this beauty enjoys it, because I would grab it in a heartbeat if it were in my price range. Good luck!
