Sale on TubeNet

Post by Steve Marcus »

Approximately a year ago, (May 11, 2017), I purchased an iPad Pro from a tuba player who posted the sale on TubeNet.

His name is Josh, and his TubeNet UserName was/is Dubby.

I had circumstances that prevented me from even touching the iPad after I received it.

I did receive the items from Josh that he promised. He wrote that he had reset the iPad.

However, now that I really need it for work (and for its original purpose--to scan music), the iPad is asking for a PassCode to open.

I do not have Josh's PassCode.

The email address through which we did our PayPal transaction is no longer valid.

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Josh?

Even better, does anyone know how I can get past this PassCode so that I can begin using this iPad?

Thanks very much,

Steve Marcus

I am not sure that is true, if the iPad has been stolen and if the original owner has not removed from his Apple account.

We have had cases in DK, where the original owners of iPads and iPhoneshave been phoned or mailed from Balkan countries and asked to tell their codes for their stolen devices.

Thanks to Dubby and to Mark (Forum Administrator) for getting in touch with me.

After consulting Apple help articles and a trip to the Apple store, the iPad is up and running. Dubby’s PassCode actually was not required to wipe the iPad clean and start from the beginning.

Suggestions for the easiest-to-use app that will let the iPad Pro serve as a scanner and archive of music?

Thanks.

I’ve found ForeScore to be the best music reading app, but it doesn’t have a built-in scanner. I’ve just been bumming it with whatever free scanning app I can find.

TurboScan is awesome, you can send the scans as PDFs.

GeniusScan and forScore together make this experience work well for me.

For scanning, Dropbox has a great scanning feature. It squares up the page and auto-crops it to fill the page. I scan into Dropbox and then import it directly into Forscore.

It may be a little adjacent to your question - and It is not a scanning application, but iGigBook is a great resource for accessing music on your iPad. You need to scan and create PDFs and drop them into file sharing.

Hard to beat the quality of a real scanner. They are super cheap now.

ForScore does now have built in scanning capability, but I personally prefer ScannerPro after trying several scanning apps
