Exciting topic huh.
If one was to buy a PVAK designed (presumably) for 1291 C tuba, is it reasonable to assume it would also work on a 1291 Bb Tuba in terms of pad thickness?
The 4th bore on the C is the same as 1-4 on the Bb which is why I presume it would work.
Anyone know...?

I'll do that, yes, only iirc Mr B is no fan of Bb tubas in general so he likely won't know.

I remember when I had the 1291/5 that the valves weren't really that good aligned.
Could be worth looking into
Used the standard "brass-fix UK" felts and a razor blade to trim for adjustments
(wasn't a game changer, but knowing it's close to perfect always helps)
