Sad news, indeed.
I always enjoyed your contributions to the board, and your humor.
Be at peace, Klaus.

I'll miss his thoughtful contributions and wide knowledge. 71 is too young to go.

Re: Klaus is gone.
The man knew something about everything, and seemed to know everything about brass stuff in Europe in the 20th century. Not to mention the huge photo collection.
RIP, Klaus. There are far too many other Tubenet alums waiting for you on the other side.

Re: Klaus is gone.
With so-called "experts" abounding in every walk of life, it was wonderful having our own real "'expert" in house. He maintained a great civility to go along with his vast experience. Truly, a man to be missed. RIP, Klaus.

Re: Klaus is gone.
He left a lot of good behind, in his path through life. He clearly could see it coming, as he set a couple of us up with administrative access to his yorkmasterbbb site a little over a month ago, so that vast array of photos etc. will live on. He had some long running health issues that I think would have incapacitated a lesser man, but kept coming back and was always a model for anyone, unfailingly polite and thoughtful.

This is good. I was wondering about the future of his archives. He sure had a lot of stuff!Donn wrote:He left a lot of good behind, in his path through life. RIP Klaus.
I always enjoyed what he posted here; at was at times intriguing, at times eclectic, but he was always polite, courteous, and willing to help others. I appreciated his selfless contributions of arrangements, his time spent maintaining the Yahoo group and I know he will be missed.

Re: Klaus is gone.
I am sad to hear of this!
Klaus and I had a period some years ago where we talked frequently on the phone, and I drove over to visit him at his house. I have fond memories of being allowed the honor to play the instruments in his vast collection (housed in his living room for the most part!). His place looked like the ideal playground for a true instrument geek and we both had a good time! I learned a lot that I still use!
I stopped most of my playing and focused on another career path, and Klaus and I fell out of contact. In any case, it was always refreshing to talk to a person who had opinions and dared to stand by them. Whether others agreed or not!
I know that he talked about testamenting his instrument collection to the very nice instrument museum here in Copenhagen, housed under the national danish history museum (https://en.natmus.dk/museums-and-palace ... ic-museum/" target="_blank). I really hope that he did go through with that idea so that everyone in the future will be able to visit the Klaus collection and share his enthusiasm for the instruments!

Re: Klaus is gone.
Once he replied to a post, and the advice was well thought out and really helped me.
I oftenthought of him as a anchor to tubenet, exerting a presence of calmness and realism into particularly heated and passionate discussions. His posts angered no one, didn't usually go to one side of a argument, but rather have knowledge and helped all who read it.
I'll miss him and his thoughtful and realistic analysis.

I would put a good signature here, but i dont have one, so this will make do.
