I selected budding/transient, as I really don't know many tubists outside of education and audition circuit that play F tuba. I suspect that its because of the sound expected of us in auditions because they like to make us play Bydlo, Hungarian March, and Lohengrin. I went with a budget minded horn that still plays great because honestly if i manage to become employed it will either be sold off from disuse or replaced.

Can I pick more than one?

(BTW, I own several, and none are in F, so I must qualify as "none of the above" :tuba: )

Really? You mean, confirming your own impression of F tuba usage? I was a little surprised to picture so many amateur band players on F tuba, and I wondered if people voted before they read the 1st post.

I would be interested in seeing a poll ranking tubas from most to least played with Bb, C, Eb and F.

The service bands have received 0 votes so far. This also does not surprise me. My dad played in a service band in the late '70s/early '80s and has never even mentioned playing anything but BBb, which he still plays today. (Still true for this poll as of this edit).

Guilty as Charged, I said amateur band musicians before I noticed the F Tuba part of the poll. I probably would have said professional orchestra musicians if I had read the question.
