FS: C.G. Conn 52J CC Silver tuba, Price lowered

Post by MarkMerk »

$5,000, OBO
Make: C.G. Conn
Model: 52J
5 Valve (4P/1R)
Silver, satin finish
4/4 size
Comes with hard case and mouthpieces

Asking price is $5,000, but certainly negotiable. Very sad to part with this horn, but I no longer play. Bought it new back in 2009 and it got me through 4 years of undergrad music school at Arizona state. Recently had it cleaned and aligned, so it's in great condition.

There should be plenty of playing opportunities in the Denver area- I see four listed as Denver on the Community Music list, plus who knows how many others in surrounding areas:

Good looking tuba, in great shape. Makes me smile to see a modern American made CC tuba. :)

Man, I always see other 5X Js like mine that look so clean and makes me question ever decision I've even made in life. Do you wear a full body suit made out of silver polish clothes when you play?

Like some folks say, these play bigger than they look. I recently changed to MAW valves and found a MP I'm happy with to make it ever larger in presence. Nice horn.

Oh, I just had it cleaned and polished right before taking these pictures. It was not so pristine before that, lol
