Side note: One year at the NYC Tubachristmas, shortly after Harvey recorded this tune, he comes over to me after the massed rehearsal and asks me to play a bass line while he sings it at the concert. In those days, I was showing up with a small Orsi CC tuba that played like crap. I only used it because it was so light and with 4-500 other players, what I used didn't matter. I told Harvey that my tuba was awful and that maybe I should borrow one from someone else for the concert. He said that was nonsense and he just wanted to do it. I asked him what key the song was in. We didn't practice it, but I went into a corner and started sounding it out. We did it on the ice at Rockefeller Center, with my crappy little Orsi tuba. I think I messed up a chord change in the bridge. O well! Harvey seemed happy.
