I’m selling my latest CC tuba. It is based on a King body/valves and has a Holton bell. The valve layout is similar to one of Sam’s 4/4 CC tubas, but it is not a copy. On this one, the B&S rotor and main slide is a larger bore than King. The wrap is more like one of Matt’s designs, so it has plenty of room to go over or through the horn to reach slides. It sounds good to me, plays great & is located in Springfield, MA

Now with an Eastman case.

Serious Price drop: $3500

lost wrote:This tuba plays!!! I visited tabor yesterday and got to play it. Very smooth ride, very big sound. Love all the aesthetics of the horn too with custom circuits and very smart design. Very clean original horn and if i played cc would be tempting. Bump...

Thanks for the bump. I think it is a good one too. It seems more open than my BBb and that 5th valve is the opposite of stuffy. It could be a good deal for someone too, because I often consider trades for part of the cost, or even all of the cost for the right tuba or tubas.

Nah, just made of stretching material...

But yes, the stocking is officially stuffed.

(Reminds me i once gave a friend a large xmas style stocking. I should ask what ever happened to it. There was only one, and they now have more than one kid...)
Thanks for playing!

HOLIDAY deal...Holton/King +B&S 5v CC tuba

Post by Tabor »

I think this is a pretty darn good CC tuba right now.

Price dropped $2,200 down to $3500 to help you afford it, or trick it out even more.

Another bump for Tabor. I had a BBb tuba I bought from him a few years ago that had a wonderful sound, great craftsmanship, and was just a spectacular horn.

Tabor really knows what he’s doing, and whoever purchases this will be getting a wonderful deal.

What are the measurements like on this? I'm guessing probably 19-20" bell? 37-38" tall?

19.5 inch bell. I think it is closer to 33 inches or so tall...about like a York or Holton monster Eb in height.

I also have 2 good BBb tubas that need new homes.
