Wessex at TMEA

Post by Oldschooltuba »

Not only will Wessex be represented at TMEA in the convention center, it will be represented in concert. Yesterday our grandson made Texas All State playing a Wessex Wyvern CC tuba. I was outside the room during the audition process and it was the best sounding horn in the room. Way to go Ryan.

Had to brag a bit

It was the best sounding tuba because he passed the audition -- a great player, not the tuba! :) :P

A major accomplishment for your grandson. Congrats!

Congrats! Which area? One of my students got first chair in area B yesterday (playing a yamaha 641... Yuck). There apparently were several kids there with CC tubas)
Area B,and I can attest to his sound.
I made 5th but they only take 3, but hey im a sophomore.
I would put a good signature here, but i dont have one, so this will make do.

Congrats! My private student made 1st chair in his Area and will be there as well. He is playing a school-owned Miraphone but has his own Jinbao 210 at home for practice. He is a special kid that does everything you tell him exactly how you told him to do it and comes to every lesson fully prepared, which in my experience is pretty unusual.

That is what I was going to say about both of my students that made state and from the same school. It is indeed a rare student that will apply what they learn and actually practice until results are achieved.
