LGBTQIA Composers for Tuba

Good Morning,

One of my colleagues is planning a recital in the fall that will feature the music of LGBTQIA community composers, and I was hoping some of you could provide me with some composers who've written for solo tuba (alone, with piano, or with electronics or another wind instrument) that would fit that description.

Feel free to send me a PM if that's more appropriate than posting here.

Please don't publicly out anyone here, and please only send me names of folks who are already out and who wouldn't mind being identified as a member of that community by appearing on the recital program.

The "I" is for "intersex": having a blend of traditionally male and female characteristics, or what was formerly known as "hermaphroditic"

"A", depending on whom you ask, can be "asexual" or "allied"

It's also worth noting that many famous not-living composers were thought to be (with varying levels of certainty) somewhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, including Handel, Saint-Saens, Barber, and Britten.

I would reach out to Daniel Burdick, tuba/low brass professor at Edinboro University. He is very active in LGBTQIA issues, and has given many talks and recitals focused on LGBTQIA representation. Good luck - being a pansexual tubist myself, I adore this project!
