SOLD: B&S PT-6P (used)

Post by ezegiel »

Hello fellow tubers!

As the subject line indicates, I'm selling (not trading) my B&S PT-6P. I have used it for the past 5 years in various settings, from school to competitions, and it has served me very well! It has seen a lot of miles from me in the last few years, and has been my winning axe for a number of competitions and advancements at auditions. I played it when I won my current Fellowship with the New World Symphony, so it is still a very special horn to me. I'm sad to offer it up, but I've decided to move to a bigger instrument that better suits my current style of playing.

I purchased this PT-6P in 2014 from Custom Music International in Ferndale, MI and it is still in quite good shape. It has the newer valve set, and I've replaced the stock springs with a Yamaha set to make them lighter. I still have the stock ones for anyone that prefers them. There are some cosmetic dents here and there, and some lacquer has worn off after the bottom bow had to be removed and re-soldered for a repair last year, but these flaws are barely visible from a few feet away. I also had the linkage rebuilt on the rotary valve last summer by Jamie Hafner in Brevard, NC. The stock rod broke, but Jamie made a much stronger system (he's a legend). The horn still plays like it is new, if not better since the pistons and slides are broken in. I've had it professionally cleaned about once a year, and have bathed it at home every few months between those cleanings.

I'm asking $10,000 for this horn, and am willing to negotiate including a custom all-black cordurite Cronkhite bag and an MTS hard case which I've used on 15+ flights (for a few extra bucks). Ideally, I'd like to avoid shipping the tuba, but could work that out with a buyer if need be. It is currently located in Miami Beach, FL.

Below is a link to photos of the instrument. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have! Email: ezegiel@gmail.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

Thanks for looking!

"throw in" the gig bag for an extra $600 is not exactly 'throwing it in'. It's selling it separately.

Hi!

I would be interested in buying your MTS flight case. Would you sell it separately?

Thanks!

Bump!

Had a buyer ready to purchase recently, but a family tragedy prevented the sale. Horn is now located in Boca Raton, FL.

I've already changed the listing in regards to the cases. Will negotiate with a serious buyer. Please see above.

Are we price checking sales threads now?

Bump for the seller. Probably a real nice playing tuba.
