The helicon posted above is not compensating. Look at the valves: simple portage from normal length valves. The illusion is because on this particular instrument Besson wound the valve slides around with more bends than we are used to seeing.

Not really. "Duh" happens when confusion may arise in any forum thread from an indefinite article (the case here), satire that does not translate well, or generally bad grammar, among other reasons.
