The helicon posted above is not compensating. Look at the valves: simple portage from normal length valves. The illusion is because on this particular instrument Besson wound the valve slides around with more bends than we are used to seeing.

If I was in the market (or even just had $800 to spare), I'd swipe that up pretty quickly. It's only about an hour from me.

Not really. "Duh" happens when confusion may arise in any forum thread from an indefinite article (the case here), satire that does not translate well, or generally bad grammar, among other reasons. Since this thread discussion had devolved to include two Besson instruments, albeit different instruments, the refocus was necessary.
