MTS 1205V case for Yamaha 621

I want to know how well the tuba fits and, if possible, what it's like for flying.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me - on eBay there is a 1205v MTS case for collection only in Independence, Missouri. Can anyone suggest a way to get it picked up? My father lives in Florida and I'm based in the UK. If I can get it to Florida, my dad can get it over to me somehow.

Any ideas?

I see that a company called Shiply will pick it up - anyone have experience with them?

Did you ever verify that your tuba would in fact fit? It would be a shame to get it all the way over there and have it not fit.

My experience from guitar purchasing forums is that finding someone in the area makes it much easier to facilitate the pickup and shipment. That said, it's a BIG box that will be shipped.

Also, glad to meet another YBL-612 player. I have the R II version, with the 10 inch red brass bell and split triggers.

Yes, I got in touch with MTS and they told me that it would be a good fit.

It's just difficult to get those cases over here in Europe.

I'm also wondering if an SKB case would work if I put the tuba in the cronkhite gigbag and then in the case - anyone have any experience of that?
