UGA Tuba Assistantship

Greetings.

My current Tuba TA Joseph Guimaraes will not be returning to school next year as a result of his winning the position in the US Navy Band in Washington, DC. So, there will indeed be a funded Tuba TA at UGA beginning in Fall 2020. The primary duties are performing in the graduate brass quintet (coached by Phil Smith), helping with teaching if I am away from campus, and performing in large ensembles. The assistantship includes a full tuition waiver and a generous stipend. The priority deadline for Graduate applications is December 1, so time is of the essence. Live auditions will take place in Athens on January 11 and 25, 2020. It is likely that about 6 candidates will be invited for a live audition.
