Nice pic, what model is the tuba on the right? Is it ‘handmade’ from sheet brass?

Nice!!!! And I am a fellow gear hoarder, mostly with electric guitars and basses. I have about 20, and for some, that's "barely" a collection. Each one has its own particular "voice" and quirks. There's just so much out there that it's hard to pick just ONE.
It's the same with trombones. There are so many styles, sizes, etc. Maybe not as many as tuba, but there still is quite a bit of variety, especially if you get into alto and soprano trombones.

That is definitely quite the horn! I can't fathom one being that tall. That's gotta be chest height on me (I'm an even 6').

I had a later version for a while. Not really the right thing for me at the time, but apparently works great for the guy who ended up with it. Honestly, it didn't seem that big to me. I mean, it's a tuba, right? so it isn't going to be petite, but I guess because the bell doesn't flare out so much, makes it more manageable.

I've heard about "our good friend down in Austin" for a while, but never known who it is. Does he post here?
Also, how does venting the valves help with slurs (if the slides aren't moved at the same time)?
