Re: New Wessex CC Helicon
Interesting. Is the final product also going to have a fixed bell?

The body was no doubt copied from a 1907 Buescher BBb helicon.

Some changes were made to bring it up to CC (obviously) and to match up with the valve set.Ed Jones wrote:The body was no doubt copied from a 1907 Buescher BBb helicon.

Re: New Wessex CC Helicon
Is this still happening?
I’m now asking purely out of curiosity. Since this project was first announced, I’ve relearned BBb fingerings and I’ve become proficient playing Eb-length tubas... which I may not have done had this instrument been released Q4 2017... so I’m not ungrateful!

So far have production prototype. Will be out early 2020.
Developing all new horns that require new moulds takes time.
