Christmas music recordings
It has been a few years since I have added to my Christmas music library. I am interested in trombone and brass ensembles, of any style, jazz, big band, small ensembles, etc.
I also have some recorder & various native flute recordings that are very enjoyable.
I would like to add a few CDs this year.
What do you folks listen to?
Any suggestions are most welcomed.

Check out Christmas Cookies from Gannett, Bertini, and Morris on the Apple Jazz label. Dave plays some awesome stuff on this offering.

Re: Christmas music recordings
My absolute favourites every year:
- Christmas with Travelin' Light (OK, only one tuba there, but the one is Sam Pilafian!!!)
- Have Yourself a Brassy Little Christmas (the Hollywood Trombones, don't know if the recording is available anywhere. I have only a copy given by a friend)
-Victorian Christmas (Passion de Cuivre, lovely old music very well played on historic instruments)

Re: Christmas music recordings
Give this a try, brass and Rat Pack style singer, with some very clever arrangements! I'm on it, but don't let that put you off....

Re: Christmas music recordings
I would add a strong second to some of the suggestions above, especially:
Christmas with Travelin’ Light
Both Christmas Cookies and Fresh Batch by Charlie Bertini’s group, featuring Dave Gannett on tuba
And add the following recommendations:
‘Tis the Season Tuba Jolly with the Hollywood Tuba 12 (http://www.jimself.com" target="_blank" target="_blank)
Trombones under the Tree (with Joseph Allessi) Appears to be still available at the Summit Records website.

Re: Christmas music recordings
I posted this in the rarely visited 'Media' section of the site, but since this topic has been hovering on the first page of the main forum, a link here may be appropriate.
This is not an album, but is a link to a really great performance of "Trumpet Bells of Christmas" - Recorded 'Round The World.
It was sent my way by a friend and is absolutely worth a listen. Awesome stuff.
