Marzan might be the closest. Short lead pipe, 750 bore (right?)

+1, and any of those .748 bore B&M tubas of that era.

I was thinking from the reverse direction -- a tuba like the PT-606, but with a rotary valve block.

No clue if there is even the right amount of space, or if there are weird acoustical things with the shape of the tubing...but the 606 has pretty big/fat bows, which makes the tuba sound a little bigger than it is. Wondering if there's anything rotary out there with a similar body size.

Not totally trying to get into the piston/rotary of the same model discussion again, but that kind of idea. I guess the 606 most recently reminded me of playing the Neptune, which had great rotors and was tons of fun to play, but unreasonably large bell. The 606 plays great, but I like those B&S rotary valves a lot.

The PT-20 is the 4/4 B&S CC option... But it's not my favorite sound.
