I like stuff like this.

I'll have to dig out my Miraphone/Mirafone breath mints (circa 1998 ???) that were convention give-aways at the time. I thought that was so clever that I know I kept the box.

Does anyone (else) remember the era (when a Great Lakes area store came to be big stuff, and with its own network of “artistes”) when (seemingly) there was an organizated contingency of anti-Mirafone snobbery?
I certainly do, but didn’t own any not-Miraphone tubas (well...with the exception of my F tuba) until that era was waning.
I owned a late 1980s vintage 186BBb from 1990 until 1994 and an early 1980s vintage 188 from 1996 to 2000 or so. That's fairly inline with their "era of dominance", iirc.

ETA: That pouch in the OP came with my 186. It contained a wooden mallet and some other stuff. I kept the mallet for years until it wore out from tapping out rotors and I replaced it with a plastic one. The mallet might've had Mirafone labeled on it also?

Oh wow, even came with a mallet? Usually a lot of companies like to avoid giving the end user "tools" like that, as they often end up borking their instruments. Like the truss rod adjustment tool for guitars. In the wrong hands they can cause quite a bit of damage.
