I own one of these to reach things...like my smoke/CO detectors....that are just too high and out of reach...very handy product!

Old guy, have one, use it some times to get in my pick up truck. Use it around the house.
It's not nearly as high as the typical chair, it one long step high. I don't see how you could use it as a horn stand.
For what it is, it is very sturdy, very stable, and make a very compact package when folded.
Two of them and some boards make for a very stable work bench for something like painting, or a very low scaffold with some boards.
