B&S PT-606/GR-41 -- $5,300 -- SOLD
Horn is in great condition, about 10 years old. Comes with a gig bag and Sellmansberger finger buttons shown in the photos (can also include a new set of silver B&S buttons). A little lacquer wear on the bottom bow and a little fingernail sized ding on the tuba. Otherwise, just tiny stuff, minor wear, and no previous damage or repairs. I tried to make these photos look as ugly as possible, but I think it still looks very good. I have the thumb ring, just removed it because I prefer it without. Easy to play, sounds great, and is a solid 4/4 with a big fat, clear sound.
No-BS price of $5300. Not interested to ship; could possibly travel to Chicago, but otherwise can't drive too far.
Update: I would also consider trades for a 5-valve rotary CC tuba of similar value.
Here's a photo from when I first got the tuba. The finger buttons look different here, but the new ones all match each other and look great. Will try to retake a photo when I get a chance. Use your imagination, though.

Email or PM if interested. Thanks!

Used this at Tuba Christmas yesterday, and it was awesome. Super easy to play, great sound, a lot of output when you step on the gas.
Bump!

What trades would you consider? I have a Conn 52J for sale and would like to step into a larger 4/4.
Thanks in advance.

Otherwise, BUMP! Possible that I might be able to get down to Chicago do deliver the tuba to a buyer, if that helps at all.

Re: B&S PT-606 -- $5,300 -- or trade?
Will now consider straigh-up trades for a 5-valve rotary CC.

Re: B&S PT-606 -- $5,300 -- or trade for rotors!
Sorry, a few clarifications to answer questions I've gotten:
Interested in trades for:
4/4 or larger rotary CC tuba
Possibly a larger-that-this piston CC tuba
Maybe a rotary BBb tuba, although the list for those is shorter. The B&S GR-51 or 55 are of particular interest.
Thanks!

Thanks Doc. Just talked to Dan, that one has already sold. I kind of forgot about his used instruments page. Some cool stuff!Doc wrote:Dan Oberloh has a PT 605/GR 51 BBb listed. Been there a while. Might be worth a call. I’ve thought about it several times myself.

Santa didn't bring you a tuba for Christmas?
No problem! How about a fine, German-built 4/4 CC? Excellent craftsmanship, easy to play, and sounds great.
This tuba reminds me a lot of the Miraphone 1291 that I used to own (big low range, silly how easy it is to play, very automatic), but with a better sound.
Start your 2020 with a great new-to-you tuba!

Re: B&S PT-606/GR-41 -- $5,300 w/Sellmansberger buttons
I can’t believe his hasn’t sold yet.
Cameron Gates described his 606 as a fast, agile linebacker that could do it all. Someone needs to snap this one up before Bort comes to his senses
