Wonder of wonders, my wife, who was a junior high french horn player, has started to practice an old Selman "Euphonium" that I acquired in a weak moment dirt cheap on Ebay. I put euph in quotes because the horn has really terrible valves, a bore size not much bigger than a trumpet, and sketchy intonation . I have no idea what continent it was made on. I would like to find her a decent horn before she decides to quit. She's actually quite musically talented and and is making fast progress. I would love for her to continue.
I am looking on the order of a Yamaha YEP-321. If I can't find one in our price range (~$700-$1000), what other instruments might be suitable?
Thanks!
Mark
