Wurzburg?

Post by scottw »

Hi,everyone,
I've been asked by a trumpet-playing friend if I knew anything about the Wurzburg instruments, specifically a flugelhorn. I think I remember reading about a Wurzburg tuba awile back but I can't locate it; my recollection is that they were a Chinese ILO (thanks for the term, Lee!) If anyone knows anything about this line, please let me know? Thanks! 8)

Close Bloke, but those were Wurzbach tubas. I can understand people getting them confused with all the different "brand" names that have been coming out over the past umpteen years.

I am not familiar with a Wurzburg brand so I can't really offer any other information. The Wurzbach brand was definately made in Germany by a highly respectable manufacturer that continues to offer pretty much anyone their own house brand of instrument, for the right price!

By the way, there are some great mexican restaurants as well as one of my favorite chinese places on Wurzbach Road in San Antonio! Hmm...

It's a neat place, but I'm not sure if there is a connection to the tuba or not, but I thought it might be work investigating.
I lived in Wurzburg for about a year and half. It is a beautiful small city with an awesome castle, but I know of of particular connection to tubas.
