Post by oscarcahue »

Dillion's Music has this York Artist Sousaphone and really low price.
It's a smaller size horn.

I found one on CL a few years back. Just found out that it was not a York. But I love its sound.

Yup, a good friend of mine purchased it. It’s a great player. A little stuffy in the basement, but really punchy and warm sound overall.

It's not a york?
I thought it was a York; but York was just using that funny logo that looked like YARK?

The Dude who was collecting York pictures told me that it was not a York. But made much later by a different company. Which explain the very low serial number but being in very good shape. I still love the sound and it's lighter weight.

I have played this horn and I’m close with the owner. Let me know if anyone has any Qs to pass along. Interesting that it’s not a “York.” What’s the story there?
