Never eat on the job. Don't they know that? Ha. I don't understand what these orchestra musicians were trying to accomplish by ingesting peppers before playing. They soon learned it was a mistake. Maybe they thought there would be some gag value to their video?

No way that was the world's hottest chili pepper. There was nobody lying on the floor, crying, and hallucinating.

I think I saw in the last frame or two a player falling or collapsing. Question remains, why would those dummies do something like that and put it on film? I mean, it's worth a few laughs, but at what cost to their bodies. At least we didn't see any tuba players in the mix---------they are too intelligent to do stupid things. Right?

Or they do it so often that they didn’t see what the big deal was...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

My guess is garden variety habaneros or scotch bonnets, certainly not the world's hottest but probably the hottest widely available pepper. But one of the local market farmers has been growing some mild habanero varieties, not hot at all; I don't remember any that looked just like what I saw in the video, but that would account for how they were able to function with that going on.

I grow hot peppers to make my own fermented hot sauce (think Tabasco).

The current "hottest pepper" changes year to year as breeders breed new ones, and measuring methods vary.

The current one generally recognized as the "hottest" is the Carolina Reaper, the former hottest was the Ghost Pepper a/k/a "Datil".

All of these peppers are beyond the capability of humans to discern the difference as they all will shut down your taste sensors.

If the orchestra had ingested any of these "hottest peppers" there would have been immediate physiological reactions which would have prevented them from playing their instruments for more than a few seconds. Among other reactions is a tightening of the throat and a swelling of the tongue, both of which happen almost immediately if the pepper is chewed.

It's an entertaining story, but no way did the ingest the "world's hottest pepper" and then play their instruments.
