Meinl Weston horns

Post by Snothead »

I have an older Meinl Weston 25 with a believe serial number 429 on the second valve block. How do I find out when this horn was manufactured? The bell engraving is "H Meinl Weston Division of Getzen".

That's probably a W Meinl Weston...
Is the 4th valve loop rounded or does it have 2 tight 90 degree bends? I had a MW 25 made in the mid 80's that had the same bell engraving with the two very tight right angles. Horns made before it did not have the 4th valve slide up right next to the first, and ones later had much more rounded bends.
