Retiring from most orchestral playing, time to start selling some tubas. First up is my main axe 1291 CC.
I've performed most of the big orchestral and movie literature in the past 10+ years on this instrument with the Charleston Symphony and Hilton Head Symphony Orchestras.
I installed a 1292 lead pipe several years ago and raised it off the bell. The original pipe is also included, uses standard American shank mouthpiece. The instrument centers and resonates beautifully.
I also added a ring inside the 1st tuning slide crook to make it easier to use the slide on certain notes by reaching through the instrument instead of over the top branch. I also realigned the 1st slide inner and outer tubes to match the crook dimension, it was originally assembled under stress. Played better without the brace so I left it out.
A couple of the tuning slides have inner tube extenders in them to keep the bore concentric (no step in the bore since the slides stay pulled out).
Includes Altieri gig bag.
