I'm sure you've heard at one time or another the famous losing horns they play on "The Price is Right." We know that's a tuba being used.
I tried playing this earlier this week by ear and I believe the notation was this:
High Bb, Middle F, Low Bb, Middle F.
Would anyone know if this is correct?

Actually, the original is high C, low D, low C, middle G:

Or, if you prefer it in Bb (Bb, C, Bb, F):

Sorry about the poor resolution. A clip with the tuba lick is here:

That's good, but what's the chord the bones play before they gliss it down??? That's the showcase showdown question.

The slide down after the "dump dum da duh" is the tonic and major third above only, I believe

Go figure. I've been thinking it's some big diminished chord. Less is more.

I think you're correct...the A in my chord was "iffy," hence the question mark. Kind of hard to hear for sure on the YouTube clip I was working with.Rotaryclub wrote:The slide down after the "dump dum da duh" is the tonic and major third above only, I believe

I am pretty sure it also has the 2nd in there. So, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of the chord. May be wrongRotaryclub wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2008 7:33 am The slide down after the "dump dum da duh" is the tonic and major third above only, I believe

Just FYI. Mine was an off-the-cuff interpretation. I was not trying to emulate the actual a music in my TikTok video. Just played what I remembered on the spot.
