FS/FT Hirsbrunner HB2P (Feeler)

Post by A_Tubist »

The Down and Dirty
-1991 Hirsbrunner HB2P 4/4 CC
-5 valves (short 5th)
-Silver Plating
-Asking $10,000, willing to negotiate (buyer pays shipping)
-More interested in trades plus cash on your end for rotor counterpart or the right Miraphone/Mirafone 186/188 CC
-Located in Los Angeles, CA
-Photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... fSz4wGNNya

I am putting out feelers to see if anyone may be interested in my 1991 HB2P 5 valve 4/4 CC. I have owned the horn since Spring 2016 and have honestly been in love with it every moment since I’ve had it. Response is wonderful, tuning is within normal expectations (flat 5th partial), and it has that characteristic Hirsbrunner color. The horn has served me well through the better part of 2 degrees and in a variety of situations; its large 4/4 size has lent itself well to supporting full orchestras and wind bands while not overwhelming brass quintets and other small ensembles.

I am (hesitantly) considering parting ways with this tuba simply because I have found myself preferring rotor instruments as of late.

I paid $10,000 for the horn in 2016 and will ask for as much now (accounting for inflation, that $10k would translate to about $12,100 today). I am willing to negotiate, but I would also highly consider trades (plus cash on your end) for the right rotor HB1/2 (4 or 5 valve) or Miraphone/Mirafone 186/188 CC. Instrument is located in Los Angeles, CA and I would ship at buyer’s expense.

Few things make me want to jump ship as much as a NICE Hirsbrunner... One of the few CC tubas that I have NOT owned, but have always wanted ...

What I have to offer as trade is a Rudy BBb 5/4, which is not what you described below. However, as long time 188 lover, the Rudy is all that plus more, with less effort. Just in BBb.

Anyway, just a thought! I'll look at the pics when posted, and will immediately know that this is a special tuba.

Sadly while I trust that your Rudy is something special, I’ve already found a large BBb that I’m in love with and am looking specifically for a 4/4(ish) CC to fill that gap in the stable 😞
